Please feel free to add any other pics you may have of the event. It was very difficult to photograph discus in there so I didn't try to take too many. Tried to get more of a feel of the event itself. I will not add names to many of these as there are too many to name. A slew of pictures follows:

Lets start with the speakers:

https://c3.staticflickr.com/9/8832/27613007554_f12c3e1905_o.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/J54T89)DSC09645 (https://flic.kr/p/J54T89) by Rick Vasquez (https://www.flickr.com/photos/138339753@N07/), on Flickr
John Nicholson discussed Judging criteria.

Dr. Stephen A. Smith discussed Discus Health, Illnesses and Treatments. Great talk on pathology.

Joshua Raatz filled in for Josie to explain about being a fish importer

And of course our very own, Al Sabetta talked about Discus in general

https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7394/28228625625_10cef7ce39_o.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/K1t5VP)DSC09736 (https://flic.kr/p/K1t5VP) by Rick Vasquez (https://www.flickr.com/photos/138339753@N07/), on Flickr
Dan Lorbeske talked about collecting in South America and this was a very very good presentation. I enjoyed this thoroughly. He and Erica Hornbrook both work for Shedd Aquarium

https://c4.staticflickr.com/9/8678/28228624155_b3378d9900_o.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/K1t5ut)DSC09786 (https://flic.kr/p/K1t5ut) by Rick Vasquez (https://www.flickr.com/photos/138339753@N07/), on Flickr
Erica Hornbrook discussed Project Piaba, which is an organization NADA donates to regularly.

And finally, Dick Au. Great orator and very informative.

I didn't get a chance to get a picture of Spencer Jack and there isn't one of me unfortunately.

I know!! I had seen these from Spirits of the Amazon and they were called "Albino Pearl Golden Diamond" imported from DXCUS DISCUS

I think Kenny also has "Albino Pearl Diamond" not sure where these came from.

I would also love a tank of these (and they were my wife's favorite) but I never saw them again until NADA. Maybe more people can shed light on what they are.
Good luck

Here is the one time I had time to take a couple pictures, about 7:30 Saturday morning before the showroom was opened. I figured it was a good thing to catch because no one else could, preliminary judging. John Nicholson and Larry Bugg hard at work, with their crack support person.

I thought I had my gold colored one in my pocket to put on my key chain this morning, but I must have left it at home. We had a winners choice raffle table and the key chains were definitely the hot item on that table. Here's a picture of the display sitting on my garage workbench before it traveled to the show for those of you who couldn't attend the show. I got one like the one on the top left.

Hi Ricardo,

Some were donate to Nada last year and some were partially donated before to NADA Show to give out to helping staff so none were for sale. I'll try to set something up so more people can get them(at cost) and save on shipping. I am glad you guys like it :). As a hobbyist myself, so I know it is neat to get something like this. I am not planning to make money on them so I just want to distribute them to discus hobbyists.

there were quite a few "orange" discus at the show. Can you provide the link of the pic/discus you are talking about?

Or, you can wait and check out Matt's thread where I am sure he will soon post up a lot of pictures of the discus at NADA

Wes, I might be mistaken but I think it was tank 18 and I think it won an award.

I'm not sure where it came from but it looks exactly like the Albino Pearl Golden Diamond from DXCUS DISCUS from late June's shipment, as I said before it might also be Kenny's.

Wes, I might be mistaken but I think it was tank 18 and I think it won an award.

I'm not sure where it came from but it looks exactly like the Albino Pearl Golden Diamond from DXCUS DISCUS from late June's shipment, as I said before it might also be Kenny's.

99275

Tank 18 is from DISCUS R US- type albino. Some one else told me this fish was in the 8th row and tank 18 is the 2nd row. That is why were looking for video or pic with tank # on it.

I'm not sure if the video I posted contained this discus but it may help eliminate some?

Edit:
Just went through the video again and did not see the discus mentioned

It was a great fish and showed itself well, but there was a solid red albino that won the class. The solid red was stunning...a real show stopper.

I won the one on the lower right! I couldn't believe it. It was the thing I wanted most and I never win. Then I won another! I gave it to Barb. She chose the gold one.
Congratulations Liz! I knew you were after one and saw you load the box with tickets:D Very nice!

Dang, I was mistaken! I'd have sworn that it was the solid red one.

I'd have bought the Blue Diamond if I had a place in my breeding program for it. It's not showing itself to it's best advantage in your pic but it was the best fish in a very hard class.

Ryan's fish rock. I don't buy a lot of fish but he is my man to buy to buy from now. Importing such excellent quality fish is not easy. People have no idea how hard it is.

Any of the shutterbugs out there happen to take any pictures during the award ceremony? There is one in particular I am looking for, and that is of Hans receiving his outstanding dedication and service award. If you have one please contact me. I was so busy texting Pat the winners as they were announced it completely slipped my mind to take one.

I conferred with my 6 year olds notes and tank 18 was the "gold lollipop" This picture is defiantly from tank 18 in the second row, my wife and both girls made me take a few photos of it.

I know. My problem with that fish was it's dorsal. It wasn't spiky but it wasn't perfect. IMO the most nearly perfect fish was his BD although his Spotted had the size. This is why I judge for fun and not for important people. Doing it for myself I can do no harm.

Yeah, that guy had some guns on him right?!? I heard he got that way from drinking a lot of Pepsi ;)

I was going to do a vid with all the tanks but thought that might just be too tedious and too long for some. Also, there were a lot of people about and didn't feel like kicking people out of the way.
