hi, there . I like to know how is this happen, these are my 5 month old red turq ,they are healthy, eating well, growth well, im happy with thier size(5 month are 12cm),but one thing is very annoying, most them have gill tissue hanging outside gill plate, just wondering how is this happen, they are survivers of 4 week sydrone, is this from gill fluke? 102139102140102141

You state "4 week syndrome".I've never heard of it before.Where they like this when you purchased them or did it happen later on.Appears to be genetic to me.Short gill plates sorta like a chipped eye.

Looks like short gill plates to me also.
Also tissue can stick out like that from past poor water conditions or infections. Here it appears to be mostly a genetic or growth problem (sometimes with low minerals in the water when young they do not develop well, but there may be other growth problems also),
I think with gill tissue hanging out and not protected there is a chance of problems with their gills...

Pure RO may not have enough mineral's for proper growth.

HI,
Use straight tap, no RO as soon as they hatch for water changes.
