I'm considering getting a microscope. I've gotten by without one just fine, but I think it would be fun to have one around and be able to look at what's going on that way. So, what should I look for? Brands, magnification, stereo, slide kits? Thanks for any ideas.

Check out Amscope's student microscopes. I would consider this one a minimum for aquarium use

This one does it all and takes pictures

Aside from the scope, all you really need are slides, and definitely some cover slips since almost everything will be wet.
