Big Bear Lake

My wife and I went to Big Bear Lake this weekend for our 10yr anniversary. We had an absolute blast up there. It was the first time I have ever had to drive in a snow storm, and let me tell you, I am not sure how East Coast people do it! It was super terrifying.

I do not ski or board unfortunately. I have too many hobbies as it is, lol. I do feel your pain though having to deal with all that snow.

Thanks Pat. We definitely needed rain and we are getting it in spades! We are almost out of the woods with the drought. We are 75% out of it I believe last I heard.

After this rainy season, i am sure we will be out of it completely. :)

That 50 1.4 at 1.4 is where it's at! Buttery smooth. Nice!

That is tons of snow to my eyes. Looks like a really nice trip.

You EXIF Reader! Not sure if I used it at 1.4 this trip. I limited myself to only one lens, and it was a prime. I'll tell you though, getting shots of the inside of the lodge was not that easy with a 50mm lol.

Ricardo, you don't realize how often It angers me when people don't include full EXIF on Flickr when I view their photo. Or larger sizes, ok don't let me download your image...fine, but at least let me view it larger to pixel peep! It's why my uploads have gotten larger and larger. I've run into that so many times lately comparing two new bodies I want to buy. Like you have an amazing photo, include the EXIF so I can see what Camera/Lens you are shooting at and at what ISO so I can gauge noise and can decide what to buy it's not that hard!! LOL

Not at 1.4? Maybe Flickr's script is lying where it tells you the details, it's happened before. Just appears to be 1.4ish visually. Whatever it is the DOF is awesome like on the lamp, boots, the wine, and your wife.

I remember opening up that lens pretty wide, but not sure if I did 1.4 simply because of CA at 1.4 with harsh contrast scene's like the boots one or the fireplace. The wife one might be at 1.4 and I focused on the closest eye. This is actually one of my favorite lenses of all time and I only paid $300 for it. It is a bargain and a half IMHO
