Took a slightly different crop on the moon.

Nice shot Pat, I need a bit longer reach like you have. Again I find myself not being able to crop in quite enough to get a good take on it like I'd like without reducing the photo more or blowing the quality. So here is a simple centered shot just as the eclipse was ending. Hope you don't mind me sharing one I took just now here in your thread. I feel like my last moon shot was a bit better, not sure if my focus was a bit off tonight or it's just so bright comparably to the last time or what. Just not quite as impressive tonight. I did have to race to catch it in a window between trees, I might wait and try again once it's higher in the sky.

I do not mind at all Matt. Perhaps I caught the eclipse also. Shot was taken about 7:30pm.

Wow! Those are both gorgeous shots. It is so cloudy here in Upstate NY (as usual). I was not able to see it. The sky is glowing very brightly under heavy cloud cover and just taunting me to what I cannot see. I heard about it on the news this morning and I knew the weather was not going to cooperate here. Now at least I can see what I missed from a better point of view as well. I would not have seen the detail with the naked eye. Thanks to both of you for sharing.

Sorry you missed it Jenene, you had a weather system moving though right?

Yes Pat, we are in the"lake effect weather zone" and clear night skies are few and far between in the winter months. I didn't miss it completely thanks to you and Matt though. I think if I saw it in person I would have stayed up for hours. Just mesmerizing...
