Yesterday morning was the start of another Gray, raining day, so I thought I'd hit a local stream for some long exposure work before the rain really started. Once it started I packed up to leave when up pulls a few "fisherman"... funny thing is they were releasing not catching.:)

Not something you see everyday, a bit bummed that the weather wasn't better for the pics, I missed a bunch good pics. Still and interesting capture for me and can't do much about rain. These guys were in a hurry to get the fish into the trout pools, so I didn't want to get in the way. They were kind enough to let me take my pictures and we chatted a bit about the stocking and camera. Nice guys.

More importantly, I now know where the trout fishing might just be good when the season opens up in 12 days.

Very unique photo opportunity Al. The light was working against you but nice job with catching the release. I see some nice trout dinners in your future. :D

Thanks Pat, I could have done better even with the lighting and weather, but theres only so much risk I can take with my gear... The camera is weather sealed , but none of my lens are which kind of negates the seals on the camera.. If I did this for a living, maybe more risking, but not as a hobbyist. Not worth it. As it was I used a lens that I am not fond of as it can be very soft....but its not expensive.

I like a couple of the shots of the trout being released.. I also like the ones with the Man and bucket facing the camera....not so much for technical reason, but because they say alot.

What, you don't keep a set of boots and waders in the car Al?? ;)

Cool photos! Not an opportunity you see everyday! Looks like some nice fish going in there.

Apart from the great photos Al, its great to see this occurring in your area. If i was you l would be dangling a worm in some of the deeper holes in that area, preferably upstream....You just never know your luck ;)

That's great! I would love to see some of your fishing photos and a report in my 'Do you like fishing?' thread. Good luck! O.h and one other suggestion....fish as light on tackle as you can....You and your kids will have a ball.

Great pictures Al, they really take me back. 30 years ago when I lived with my sister in Georgia for a short time the local game folks use to plant trout just 2 miles from her house, during fishing season. My nephews after school always looked for the trail of water left on the road by the delivery truck to decide if it was a good day to go fishing. :)

Glad to hear it brought you back. I have to admit, when I was in school the kids all knew where and when the trout had been stocked. :) We would camp out the night before opening day. Those were good times.
