I have alot of "if Only" nature watching moments. Usually its its one where I think , "If only I could get closer", or" if only I had a better lens"... " If only the light was better."...
Sometimes you just got to go with what you got... saw these seals way off on the rocks the other morning, Lens was f*300mm plus 1.4 tele converter.. First image uncropped, second not the same but in the series, cropped heavy.
Most of the time I see seals here as nothing more than their heads way out there ... Not a great a pic but 11 seals sunbathing on the rocks! Yeah I had a "if only Moment"

Still I can learn a bit from this pic.. The size range, the patterns of the fur, the way they float with their tails up. The numbers present. Talking to others this is a frequent spot at low tide for them in the winter.
Theres photography thats art, and then there is photography that Documents, as this does. This is the kind of photography that I started the Hobby with and still has a huge place in my life.
