My daughter Diana has lived in Maryland for the past five years and I miss not having her local. She recently accepted a job transfer with her employer and she is now back in the Melbourne area. When she left for Maryland she took her horse Nautica with her and together they learned a lot Maryland. They went from being Hunter-Jumper to Eventing which includes cross country and dressage.

Yesterday she had a lesson with a new eventing instructor and here are a few images from that session. I had no control over the time of day. :)

Does your comment about time of day imply you would have preferred different lighting or something?

What breed of horse is Nautica?
I have a Belgian named Mick and am very into horses.
But, I have too tell you he would never move like that, try as he might.
He is a big, clumsy,18 hands high boy trying too move like that but ain't going to happen.
But, he's a natural wagon and sleigh horse.

Yes Steve, a softer light, either early morning or late afternoon vs noontime, a very contrasty time of day.

Thanks Tina, Diana and Nautica have been together since she was 12 and he was 7. Nautica is 23 now. This horse will do anything for Diana and they are an excellent team. That extended trot is the first picture is powerful and very elevated. Only one foot is touching the ground. :D

Hi Jay, Nautica is an OTT TB. Mick sounds like a gentle giant and I bet he is a sweetheart. He just is not breed for what Nautica is doing. No way Nautica could pull a sleigh. :)

Hi Pat
Mick is also trained to western saddle trail horse. I think TB refers to a Thoroughbred but what is OTT?
And guess what sometimes he is not a gentle giant . He be a real pita sometimes but I love him.
