Holiday times means Food. I normally don't take pictures of food in any serious fashion. Pobably because in my family it goes so fast at get togethers , its gone before I get the camera out! I did make an exception for an incredibly tasty wheel of Imported Italian Cheese....

That is a lot of cheese Al. To make it the perfect photo it needs a glass of wine next to it though. :o

That's a beautiful wheel of cheese, Al. It looks like it was well aged and was quite sharp. What kind of cheese was it?

That cheese looks like it would be terrible with a nice bottle of wine.
Yuck.
And don't even think about having any soppressata or olives or peppers or bread with it.

I wish I had more time on this one, but the natives wanted to massacre it.. So it was a quick snap shot.

The other cheese here is Scamorza, and the round things are Pepper Biscuits , a family tradition.

Al, have you ever done a stacked shot before? That last shot would look awesome as a 3 shot stack. Looks yummy but I must say, I have never had cheese from a wheel like this. I was never in to hard cheeses. I doubt it is a latino thing, but almost every latino I know only eat "fresh" (or queso fresco) cheese.

Ricardo,
I would have loved to do a stacked shot there... It was my thought too.. However, have you ever tried telling 35 Italians that they need to wait to eat while you try to take pictures? It won't go over well! Trust me!:)

That is beautiful. Cheese is my favorite, especially harder cheeses like this. I'm not expert or anything but would love to know more. I know how to break a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano down simply by watching videos lol....would love to put that into practice one day but those real wheels are used as collateral in banks in Italy so $$$. One of my favorite cheeses. The real stuff, not the grocery store shaved woodchips. The crumbly look above is what I love. Mmmmmmmmm!

I think it's a great photo as well. Almost would like to see some crackers and/or smaller chunks of it at the base as far as a scene goes. But looks great as is!

EDIT: Posted without refreshing, I see the food scene now, great!
