Depending on the composition and your water chemistry it should just dissolve if added to the tank water but it can take hours!

Hot water might render the med inefective.
DMSO can help disolve and deliver the med into the fish, however a lot of precautions must be taken when using DMSO, tha aquarium has to be a hospital tank and very clean as well.

what is dmso ?

This is a chemical called Dimethyl Sulfoxide

https://www.amazon.com/DMSO-Bottle-99-995-Dimethyl-Sulfoxide/dp/B01BSYQ0XC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1493883542&sr=8-3&keywords=dmso+pharmaceutical+grade

As with any chemical if you plan on using it caution should be taken, read it's safety data sheet. It has a history of medical use in humans because it has the ability to penetrate the skin and carry active ingredients inside the body. It is use is cotreversial in both humans and fish. It's use is highlighted in Untergasser book on discus health.
