So I shot these while I was whizzing by them on my way to Portland late this afternoon early evening.

If any of you photo experts want to play with the original files let me know. Shot on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I couldn't decide which shot I liked for, so I posted both.

The cool thing about the first shot with the haze of clouds is that you can see the peak rises up above the altitude of the plane.

Welcome to Portland Keith! What brings you to town?

We haven't had a drop of rain in 50 days in the PNW and that haze is from forest fire smoke Unfortunately, otherwise that would have been a crystal clear shot.

50 days must be a record! I lived in Washougal just across the river from Portland 2009-2012 and it rained...... Had to get out of there and find some sun!! I worked in Portland for the Air Force.

Yes, that haze is smoke from a multitude of forest fires raging in B.C. (highest number of burning acreages on record - hope it lets up soon - rain is needed badly).
