Starting to plan what "else" we will stock in the 90 gal Discus tank we are planning.
Current stocking plan: 6 Discus, 15-18 Cardinal tetras, 3-4 Sterbai Cory, Ottos. We want another 'school' of 12-15 tetra.
I have 7 X-ray tetras in a smaller tank that I really like. We also like the look/personality of Lemon tetras we have seen. Pros/Cons of X-Ray vs Lemon vs ?
Thanks.

never have had experience with Xrays, but I have plenty experience with lemons. Lemons look great and will be a good companion not to get eaten, but they are pretty voracious eaters when it comes to dinner time. One thing to keep in mind is this.

Rummy nose or Rasbora.

Rummy nose or Rasbora.
Would be better choices, because?

rummy nose are also much more docile and less aggressive during feedings.

I started a "discus with others" tank last fall, and like the Chili Rasboras. They're about 1.25", school nicely, and have been healthy, nice pattern: orange with a black vertical bar/spot. I bought them from The Wet Spot in Portland, Oregon.

I like rummynose because they school tightly. They move around the tank as one. Cardinals don't do that in my tank.

Had both Rummy's and Lemons both very nice fish. My other go to are red eyed tetra's.
