I have a Eheim pro 4 + 350 canister filter that is 6 months old. Lately it has been loosing water flow. I clean the motor impeller, rinse media, change filters and clean hoses. After cleaning I have excellent water flow and with in 24 hours flow is diminished dramatically. Bad motor or something else I am missing? Any one have these problems with this filter? Thanks

Get a sump!! LOL

Sorry, I know it isn't the answer you want, but I just dread canisters. I had a lot of heartache and issues in my past with them and have pretty much swore it off... Id take some aquaclears any day.

Your filtration should never be smarter than you... canisters just annoy the F out of me, faulty to no end if you ask me...

Is it loosing pressure or suction somewhere? No kinks, are the seals all good?

Maybe air in the filter or lines.Tip the filter back and forth and see if any air comes out.

Already checked all that. Took the power head off and hardly any power to the impeller. Cleaned the impeller any anything else I could but the same result. I think the motor is shot. I went with a canister filter because of the show tank. I put a aqua clear on the tank for now.

No air in system. Checked all the simple stuff. I think the motor is going bad. I bought a Eheim because I thought it would be dependable.

Did you contact them or the store you purchased it? Maybe there is a form of warranty if it is as young as you say...

I would try to get a warranty. I am running a pro 4 + 600 for over a year and still going strong.

I am checking on the warranty. Waiting for Eheim to get back with me. Thanks
