I am sorry your fish died. Not clear to me. If you have access to a microscope, I can guide you in doing diagnosis in the future. I have learned that Cryptobia is a frequent cause of chronic wasting disease in Discus and I know how to diagnose it. Treatment is a bigger problem. But that is not the cause of external white spots on fish. That is usually fungus, but I can't tell from the pictures. Fungus is white and fluffy like a cotton. Often that is a secondary infection in an already sick fish
Discus are hard.

Thanks for reply, I had a 3" red melon go off feeding a day ago which I found dead this morning, finding this very difficult as I get quite attached to them.

Nash,
Sorry you lost another fish. I know discus get a bad rap as a hard to keep fish but its not really true. They have certain needs that have to be met for them to survive and thrive. It looks to me that you have some underlaying issues in your tank. Can you fill out the disease questionaire and post it here. It may help pinpoint whats going on. Also post some pics of your existing fish and tank.

Water quality and tank hygiene may be the culprit here.. the turq that died initially had some serious fin rot at one point as evidenced by the dorsal fins ragged edges.

hth,
Al
