Hi,

please copy paste the disease questionnaire from this link: http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?38545-Disease-Questionnaire-please-complete

And post the filled out questionnaire in the emergency room sub forum, so we can help you out.

Hi vinupune and welcome to Simply. This fish appears to have hex based on the white poop. The fish pictured is pretty serious compromised, very thin, stunted and in poor health. If you tried to treat this fish most likely the treatment would kill it. Best to gently put this fish down. Sorry.

The fish has white poop caused by a internal parasite called hex or Hexamita. This is normally found in the gut of the fish but doesn't cause issues unless the fish becomes compromised. When a fish becomes compromised the fish loses it's ability to control the parasite and the fish can develop white poop. At least this is what I think is happening. You would need a microscope to determine if this is the cause.

Hi sorry I didn't get back to answer your question Pat is right. They get hex or more often spiro. type flagellates. once the fish has them for awhile they can embed themselves and/or irritate the intestines. they can also get abscesses and then bacterial infections get out of hand. Any fish I have that stop eating and get the white feces get culled. imo once in awhile you hear of someone successfully treating it but eventually it comes back. that 's my experience anyway.
