is this Red melon ?

Hi All,

im fairly new to discus keeping , i recently bough a discus which looked pretty and thought its a red melon , but turns out they eyes are not red but white. is this a red melon discus

No. This is called a Red White.

I think the colour of the eyes has nothing to do with the "red Mellon" name . Im not sure about the difference in red whites vs res mellons , but the discus from this picture looks like a red Mellon to me .

Yours like discusbi have seen labelled red whites. My red melons have more of a cream/yellow base and a blood red eye. Here's a pic

It's the white eye and the coloration.
