Is anyone running twin return pumps in their Sump as a safety measure? If one pump fails, the other continues to operate providing water circulation while a replacement pump is acquired. Finding a suitable replacement pump could take a significant amount of time. Are pump failures so rare that this is considered unnecessary?
Thanks for any thoughts...

You can use one and have a spare pump on hand if that one does fail.

I use to set up a spare cannister when I went on vacation... But the last few years I haven't bothered.
I do do keep spare impellers and one new complete pump in stand by stock.

Keeping one on stand by is probably your best bet. Now, the real problem is when your house loses power. Prepare for that one!

I run two Jebao DC pumps in my sump and haven't had any issues. They have a feed button on them which shuts the pumps down for 10 minutes and is very handy during feeding times.
