Hi, i just started using nitrofurazone to treat some sores on 1 of my discus. i didn't realize the water would tint the color of the med... how long does the tint last after treatment has stopped and how do i remove it?

Once the treatment is finished put some fresh activated carbon in your filter and it will remove the remaining medication and color.

I remove all meds with water changes since most illness arise from lack of ..
The meds help fish that can recover ..The fresh water keeps healthy fish healthy ..
Carbon is for removing contaminates from your source water IMO and not much else ..
Water changes have added benefits carbon does not ..

I agree with you but it is a well documented truth that carbon will remove medications if not removed prior to treating. This is represented on labelling to remove it prior to dosing. Any residual medication for the treated aquarium will also be removed. It goes without saying that large water changes are essential to a healthy aquarium, and during & post treatment when meds are used.
