Plant tank with discus

Just curious, what kind of plant tank does people like to use with discus?

Mine are mostly small to medium sized gravel and I try to mix laterite in with it. I've thought about other mixtures, but it just hasn't worked out yet and the tanks seems happy the way they are. I do put peat in with new plants every now and then though.

I have 1.5 inches of large gravel mixed with a commercial sand with a very fine gravel layer on top, about 1 inch of that.

Layered the tank with laterite on the bottom and 2-3 inches of small, light colored gravel above. I wanted to have the mineral base for the plants with going to root tabs. Follow up with Tetra FloraPride after water changes. After seeing some of the pix on this board, I may add CO2.
