Hi Pascale, Imperial Gallons are more than us Gallons.
Imperial gallons is 4.5 litres while us is 4. I think. In Canada and US they use us gall HTH

We don't use Liters in the US so it doesn't come out even. A gallon is four quarts and 3.78 Liters.

IMP gal: 1
U.S. gal: 1.2
LITERS: 4.54

I wouldn't mind if we were metric too. I just wish we were all the same.

The real world uses gallons, centimeters and kilograms.
It is the british and their former colonies including americans, who use those other measurements, and can't even agree on which ones to use !!

OK , so we have all these different answers to the imperial gallons issue. I must admit to not actually looking it up when i answered before, so i checked my dictionary and it defines imperial gallons as 4.54609 liters.......boy was i way out!! Been useing 4.454 for ages ::)

I love the metric system, everything works in units of 10's so easy to use.
