hi y'all

i have been keeping all sorts of fish the the last few years, and one of the things i have come to realise is the need for good reference material.... I am hoping to get some opinions as to which discus books are highly recommended by users of this forum.

The books available at my lfs are:
Discus for the perfectionist, Jack Wattley.
Dr. Cliffords Chan's Book Of Singapore Discus The Atlas Of DISCUS of the world. Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod, Dr. Warren E. Burgess & Bernd Degen.

Are these books worthwhile? If the books recommended are not listed above, I will look for it in amazon.com.

tia!

I would get both of Jim Quarles books : Discus as a Hobby and Success with Discus. Easy Reading and to the point. Beware of picture books. There are a number of them and thats not what your looking for to start. Welcome and good luck. Rich

I agree with the Quarles books being good starter books, and would also say that "Discus For The Perfectionist" is a great book too. Actually, I have enjoyed Bernd Degens books, of which there are several regarding discus. Also, I think Wattleys other books are well worth having. Penang Discus is great for a more advanced look at fish keeping/breeding. And the Asian Discus books, 1 and 2, have some beautiful pics!
