:bounce: :bounce: Well, 1 more time; have 15 young discus in the 125g; doing well & growing. One seeming pair, I thought, hahhaa!! saw eggs sev'l times, but after much reading, was aware, could be 2 females. The last egg batch was fungused, so, haven't paid much attention, & my son-in-law, looking in this am, said, "haha!" babies; didn't believe him 'til I looked in & sure enough, 40-50 babies around the parents in a huge community tank!!!! Really don't have much choice, going to have surgery on thurs, so, either they make it or not!! But, at least now I know it's a pair, evidently intent on doing their thing!!!! What else can one do?? BTW they are 2 red snakeskins, thanks Cary!! I wouldn't think they could raise them in such a tank; when I get back on my feet, I can put them in a new tank!!!!!!!! lol, Dottie :o :o :o

dottie, keep in mind they dont have their own tank in the wild. if you want to help get some of that egg crate for lighting and make a divider, simply divide the parents from the rest of the fish!
of course i would worry moma might get scared and eat them. any thoughts on this?

Hey Dottie,
I would concentrate on your surgery for now. If anything does happen to the babies (which I hope won't), the good news is that they'll breed again.
So no worries, just look after yourself for now and let the parents worry about the fries.
Wish ya luck.
Cheers,
Chi.

Good advice Ethan, but hard to do, lol. Don't worry Dottie, they'll have lots more - get them a nice 29 gallon and get it cycling w/ a fishless cycle while you're recovering from surgery. I hope all goes well for you!
CArol :heart1:
Hi Dottie!
Get your 29g cycling while your off your feet. They'll have more babies....you need to take care of yourself!!
Good luck with the bionic knees...you'll be back in the saddle before you know it!
And congrats on the new pair! ;D

Dottie,
Good luck with the surgery! You're tough and will do just fine, plus you have motivation for rehab - gotta get back to the w/c ASAP!
;)
I have to concur with the others. Your pair will spawn again and you will have lots more babies!
Good luck!
