Specifics -

Will be used as another bare bottom Discus tank primarily for large juvies and adults as a grow out or take a break from breeding rest place.

I do have more room available but as you would say the wife would kill me...

My current set up includes one 65 gal, one 50 gal & three 29 gal.
I need some more space to keep growing out fish until I become more selective on which will be keepers for breeding.

The best fit as far as length goes is 48 to 50 inches length. I prefer 22 to 23 inch high tanks for ease of cleaning.

Brands available:

All Glass regular & Bow
Great Lakes Regular no bow

Are the bow front tanks worth losing the extra water vollume or not?

Share with me!!!!!!

Thanks,

Andy

i have a 125 but if i had known it at the time i would have bought the 90 gallon corner bow. it only takes up 42" from the wall. this is a salt setup with a factory overflow setup that is sweet. sure doesn't look like 90 g.

Hey Andy...

I am very partial to Bow fronts. Just love the way it magnifies the fish. I would love a 155 bow like Slicksta's. He has some awesome pics of it.

Heck, now that I see yours Denny my desire for bows continue. Quite the lid you have there. Did you make it?

ok...april really wants a bowfront also.
those ones are more corner tanks. the one i want goes along the wall and bows in the front. not in the corner.
not sure i have a corner...

I like the bowfront just beacuse it's a little different and makes a very cool show piece!

The only difficulty with bowfronts is that in my experience, every time I add a tank, some months later I will be trying to modify/build a stand so I can have 2 tanks in the footprint of one. With bowfronts is trickier. The other thing, is that longer tanks (5, 6feet or more are sweet and allow more things to do fishwise and decorationwise). I guess another thing is that most of my tanks have been purchased used, and bowfronts are seen less often, or for much more money.
