Hi all,
Which color ppl usually use for background color for barebottom that good for discus?
My tank's white background seems making them too nervous. :P

Mine aren't painted at all but I think most use a light blue or black. Here is a thread that talks about it. I remember a longer one but I couldn't find it.

Skittish fish may not be the result of the background color. A number of environmental factors may be involved. that is, lighting, traffic around the aquarium, acclimatization to the tank, water parameters and on and on.

Most fish relate to structure in their environment. They tend to hold close to cover, a weedline in the wild or wooded areas, or shade. A place to hide and to escape whether they are fresh water or pelagic species.

You may want to add something to a bare bottom tank that they can cling to, like mopani wood. You may want to experiment with your water parameters or your lighting, etc.
