I'm already thinking of redoing the central trickle filter on my new set up. Afterall, what would I do with all my free time if I didn't spend it on constantly "tweaking" my discus set up ;D
I have two options. A tower type trickle filter, maybe 4'-5' tall, filled with bio balls.
Or I can make it to fit under the fish tank racks. It would be only be about 11" tall. There would probably be the same amount of bio balls as in the tower trickle filter but they would spread out more, probably only stacked about 6" high.
Is there a better effect on the water trickling down 4'-5' as opposed to just 6"? Or since there would be the same amount of bio balls in each set up it doesn't matter?
Any ideas/opinions?
Thanks,
GARY
