Does anyone know if the Seachem pH6.0 Discus Buffer (the white powder) contains phosphates?
I just read that nitrite-to-nitrate nitrification cannot take place without phosphates. My nitrites have been pegged for weeks, and 0 nitrates. The artice says sometimes during the year, "phosphate block" can occur in tap water. They recommend using their brand of pH down to introduce phosphoric acid. So I picked up my bottle of Discus Buffer (never opened) and it says it contains phosphate buffers. Does that mean it contains phosphates?
Anyone ever try this?
Thanks,
Nick
