I seem to have problems with my Discus and all the fighting I have two who mated and paired off who live in a 55 gallon tank and do fine , but the others must be all male because all I do is seperate, if I don't one will get sick and die I don't know what to do. I had to give one up because he was making everyone in his tank life a living hell. Help :o

well.....how many fish do you have? is the pair out of there?
sometimes moving decorations around helps...or..take him out. and put him by himself for awhile.

How about a bit more info?

If you have remaoved the pair & put them into their own tank what size is the tank that the others are in & how many fish are in there?

One thing you could do is to put egg crate divider in the tank to keep some of them apart. This is sold at hardware or building supply stores as a plastic grid used in commercial buildings as a cover for flourecent light fixtures in the ceiling. I have used it in my tanks before with suction cups to hold it in place.

When I was born I knew of no one named April enough said without giving away my age.The pair are in a 55 gallon are doing well. I put the (red piegon) problem child in with them, I think he will behave because they are much larger, hopefully. I have two offspring Marlboro in a 30 gallon they are about 1 year old, and two blue diamonds in two seperate 30 gallons because of fighting I think it will someday work itself out and perhaps find suitable tanks mates for them. They are very pretty but I noticed when the picking goes for very long someone gets sick I have to watch.

hmmm. were you born in April? seems it was the only option for a name for me... not sure there were many around when i was born either... so maybe we are very close...in age . lol
sounds to me like their all just maturing and battling it out for territory and who gets the girl etc.
hope it works out.maybe you will get a few good pairs out of them. id say maybe the eggcrate might be a good idea.

No I was born in July, why I never got a answer... Yea I hope they work it out I 'm going to get a few more and with that hope is eternal :-*
