I received my 10 Cobra SSx Bl Diam from Frank this morning. the look terrific and that's before they get real comfy with their new surroundings.

They are beautiful fishes indeed. If i'm not mistaken, the male is the SS and the female is a BD??

Just curious since the majority of babies on the photos all express SS pattern. Did any of your babies was a BD??

Normally its:
1. 25% (SS)
2. 25% (BD)
3. 50% crosses between the two.

...if I recall my genetic crossing correctly.

What was the percentage of SS to BD?

EC.com, I'm no bigtime discus breeder, but I recall that % is correct only if the two colors/strains were equally expressed. You forgot about the issue of dominance/recessiveness. Also, while the parents may be a SS or BD, that doesn't mean that they "breed true". Who knows, they might have been the product of a mix as well?

They came out at about 65% SS-some 9 line and some 14. About 25% are Blue Diam SS, and the rest are the nicest red turks I have seen. Frank
