He is a beautiful fish. The photo does not do him justice. He is very bold almost demanding food when he can see me. He rushes the front of the tank and shakes his head at me.

Hi everyone,
I really like this Heckel. He is the nicest one I have. I wish I could convince him to breed. He is in a 150g tank with many other discus (including another Heckel). He has been guarding the one end of the tank for about a month now. Most of the time with the other Heckel. Unfortunately he isn't doing anything else. He does seem much happier since I lowered the ph in his tank. It used to be around 5.5 - 6.0 and now I keep it at around 4.5 His face turned considerably more blue when the ph was lowered. The next thing I might do is try using some RO water to lower the conductivity a little.
