Joe, It is obvious that you are the king of the spotted fish. I've heard others say how hard they are to breed and that they tend not to be as large or vigorous as other strains. Yet you seem to have no problem. What is your opinion on their overall health and their likelyhood of breeding true? Or do you just wave your magic wand?

The fish are just stunning. Also the leopard is it the one that won in dusiburg. :o :o :o

Blueknight, I did not take any leopards. In a discus championship, the leopard and leopard snakeskin would be in the same category--that of spotted category. In the last 4-5 years a leopard snakeskin won Grand Champion except at a show last year in Hong Kong where a lady won ( Winnie ) with a leopard skin ( non- snakeskin )

Sly, Sorry my son OOPS!!!!

01-31-2003, 02:43 AM
Arpanlib, No I do not breed the particular Leopard sanke you see. It did not go to Germany becausethe demeanor was not appropriate. Breeding it would make it no good for the show. Joe :(

Shootingstar, Yes I went back to Vietnam in 2001. It was much better than the last time I visited ( 1971 ) They are still using some of the jeeps we left in 1975. I will be going back again in May after Kuala Lampur and Penang but before Aquarama in Singapore. There are some very good breeders in Vietnam. The conditions vary. In many of their homes, the Discus take up the living room and bedroom and generally have better quarters than the people do. They do not have many of the new strains--but they do have genetical giants. I got this fish at 5" . It is now over 8".
