I visited the Baltimore Aquarium several years ago and saw the largest Discus I can ever remember. They were as large as dinner plates - no exaggeration. I believe they were of a wild variety. This was in my pre-Discus keeping days. I am wondering if anyone else here saw the same exhibit. They were HUGE! I wonder what our abilities as keepers of tank-raised Discus would be to grow Discus that large. Also, have any of you adventurers to the Amazon ever seen Discus in the wild that are that large?

I was told by a hobbyist that visited Gwynnbrook Farms a few years ago that Peter Thode had some enormous Discus ...that were not for sale but a sight to see. If you are ever in the area, check out that hatchery and let me know if the big discus are still there.
I also think Oliver from Belowwater.com mentioned on some forums a few years ago, some monster wilds that came from fast moving water.
