Okay, I had some time, so I scanned in the magazine photos. I don't own the rights to these photos, so don't ask me about reproducing them (or I'll just repeat that sentence again!). Amano's official website is:
http://www.adana.co.jp

This first tank is from Aquajournal #35.

W180 x D100 x H80cm
440 watts of lighting
water changes 1/3 every two weeks
temp 25ºC
pH 7.3
GH 4ºdH
KH 4ºdH

Absolutely beautiful!!!

This is the type of effect that I wish I could achieve!!!

(water changes- 1/3 every two weeks?)

If only my discus would come out in the open and stop hiding. ???

O my..........................Please do not post pictures like those. Im soooooo jealous! What you are doing is making me unhappy about my planted tank because I know that I can not copy that. >:(

Does anyone know if you can 'rent' this guy to make a planted tank like that?

Thanks for the pics though! Wow! :o Am I drooling?

I can make one for ya if you'd like. I'm available for rent. :)

For those who don't know, 30cm=1 foot.

They're both awfully close to 6'x3'x3' I'd hate to have to try planting the back of those puppies!

I think I like the second tank the best, it has a brighter look to it and that driftwood grouping is amazing (and so are those discus). I've never seen another tank that has hatchets and rummies in it, those are my favorite discus tank mates and that's what I have in two of my tanks.

Thanks for posting the photos Walter.

Don't forget this Amano tank (my favorite):

from Amano's "Nature Aquarium World book 3".
A 380 gallon (1440 liters) tank:
