I currently have 8 discus of various sizes in a 60g tank. I bought two wattley red pandas more than a month ago and one is not growing. They were both approximately the same size when I got them. He appears to be doing okay, he does eat, no white poo, but slight fin deterioration on the dorsal fin. What should I do or not do with this guy? Thanks.

He might have worms, might be intestinal flagellates . . . . there is usually one small one in every tank . . . .

Sounds like intestinal flagellates or hexamita. Do you have a hospital tank or do you want to treat the whole tank?

Turn heat up to 92/93F, dose metronidazole (hex-a-mit) @ 400-500 mg per 10 gallons daily** after 50% water change (change water needs to be close to 92 also) for three days. Feed favorite foods - sparingly. Keep heat up for a week after treatment ends then slowly lower a couple of degrees per day. It may take discus several days to regain full appetite.

** Others dose metro 3 times per day (every 8 hours)

Thanks Carol

Using hex-a-mit as directed on box on entire tank. Everybody in the tank is eating great with the high temps. I added salt too and temp is at 90-92F. I got help from the chat room also (thanks DonL and Wahter)
