Hi,just wondered if anybody could help, just filled new tank with R.O,left overnight ,heated with air stone added, added 1 teaspoon of ro right per gallon, just tested Gh with tetra test kit and got a reading of 0 gh.It says on the ro right not to add more than suggested levels even if test kit says other. So what shall i do ? cheers Alsbeth.
p.s i have a tds meter coming in the post

I would recheck with a different test kit or wait for the TDS meter. Hard to imagine that there is truly no GH after that much RO Right is put in....

HTH,

Wait for the TDS meter. Test kits are not your best choice.

Hi, meter has arrived, test kit showed between 0-1 dgh, meter showed 220ppm.so the test kit must have been dodgey. Its now in the bin.Cheers Alsbeth

I just add tap water to my ro water to bring it up to 80 ppm tds. Is there a benifit to using ro right????? :)

Some people have whole house water softeners or really, really bad water. Pure RO and a product like RO right is recommended in those cases.

The benefit if there is one could be:
I have no clue what is in the city water (well a bit I know)
and since I would have to go with a 80/20 or 90/10 R/O Tap ratio wich in my case is 30 gal RO and 10 Gal Tap I just decided to go the whole 9 yards and be sure no nastys are left. (I Hope) ???

For me R/O right is just the lazy way to recon. the R/O water. I could get the minerals cheaper and the make the same mix.
But as I said, I just went the easy way. :-[
