hi all, afetr mixing r/o tap water TDS75 gh (ca and mg) 3 kh 2 areated for 36 hrs ph gone up to 8.0, which is high for breeding how much diluted HCL (32%) shud I mix to get ph 6.8?

I wouldnt recommend mixing any of that stuff into your water since it causes pH to really bounce around for about 12-14 hours or so.

If your looking at breeding why not go with pure RO water. You can add just a splash of tap to add some minerals back into the water. My pH was 6.8 and tds was at 78 when my fish bred succesfully for the 1st time.

I would suggest increasing the amount of RO to get a tds of around 50, and not worrying about lowering the pH! I use about 2 to 1 RO to tap, and pH is probably about 7.2-7.3 and get fine results. Frank
