Hi all,
I just got a 80 gallon last week and want to keep discus so I'm getting ideas on where to buy them from.
I live in northern CA about an hour north of Tahoe. Any suggestions on where to see and buy good discus in this neck of the woods?.....Reno? Sacramento?

I am willing to get discus via shipping but would prefer to be able to pick out exactly the ones I want.
Plan on getting 6 or 7 young ones and raising them in a bare bottom tank till they are older, then adding substrate, maybe plants (already keep planted tanks), and neons.

Thanks in adavance for any suggestions,
Troy

That's possible ya. My wife and I go visit friends occasionally down in Marin county so it'd be about another hour or so to SanJose? Any suggestions on a good LFS?
Thanks for the reply.

I actually work at a LFS In Reno, email me for more info (i'd give you the name, but think they might frown upon that) we usually carry discus and I also have some personal stock that I might be selling off.

There is a member on this board (Carol_Roberts) who lives in southern Oregon. She has a really nice batch going right now. I am not sure if they are for sale or what, but it wouldn't hurt to contact her.
