i know that styrofoam is sometimes use in tanks ;
1] placed in between the CorkBark & the back of the tank.
2] moulded/ sculpted to create layer/contour on the tank bottom

I need to know if it can be used to temperary(around 2 weeks) seperate/ divide a tank (2 fighting fish, to allow the smaller one to eat in piece). until a more sutiable media is found.
I know it might not the most suitable material, but it can be easily cut to desired size. & She is unable to get another tank for now. I would keep the fish for her if i had more tank space :'(
Of course the styrofoam would be well perferated to maintain water flow .

Tank dividers are cheap and a piece of plastic egg crate from a building store is even cheaper(look in the flourescent lighting section). You will need lots of holes in the styrofoam for the water to circulate. Maybe you can do enough holes without breaking the styrofoam . . .
