Hi guys,
for the past couple weeks i have been having different discus dreams every night. I am still trying to get mine to breed and they usually involve me waking up and having three pairs or so with eggs all over. last night i had a dream i had a 300 tank saltwater drip system (if that exists) with discus and damsel fish ?!? whats that about, i have never had nor really wanted saltwater. and discus are fresh so how does that work? oh and in the dream, the discus were see-through and all you could see were the bones and swim-bladder (even though i don't know where it is on the body). weird...

*LOL* that's funny Kim! I recomend less W/Cs for you, and don't look at your fish just before you go to sleep! :) Have you ever been behind one of those cars (chevy Impalas I think) and suddenly thought that there were two giant Discus eyes looking back at you (the rear brake lights are really great immitations of the real thing)?
Well, at least your dreams only involve DISCUS pairs in the act of spawning ::) I'm not gonna elaborate on that....

Hi Kim,
Discus dreams? Are you kidding ? I thought everyone had them and just took them for granted myself.
I spend hours with my fish, when I close my eyes to sleep ..thats alot of what I dream... though it passes for nightmares sometimes ...leaky tanks, forgot to turn the power on, etc.
I even dream about this forum..... not surprising I guess.

The best though is those dreams that come to you when you are obsessed about new fish you are getting. For me its a sure bet I'll be dreaming about the discus when I see something like this just before bed...

I have some strange ones also. I was reading Joes post a couple months ago about that monster discus 8"+ in Vietnam. I had a dream that night I was trudging around Nam looking for discus and came upon some unbelevable specimans but I couldn' fly them outta there :'(.

I had a dream the creek which flows behind my childhood home was full of brightly colored wild discus. I had a field day collecting them out behind the swing set.

I have been dreaming Discus now for almost a week. I get my new Discus from Cary on Saturday. I dream of them at night and all day long when I am suppose to be working. It is such anticipation trying to figure out what they will look like. And of course, will I be successful in keeping them healthy.

It must be part of the sickness/obsession. I have dreamed several times about running my own full scale hatchery complete with 40 1000 gallon grow out tanks and a hundred breeding pairs.

If only it were so! :o lol

Discus dreams? ;D

I have them all the time. There are two major ones. My discus fly freely throughout the house following me from room to room, using their fins like wings. I often have go on a hunt looking under tables and chairs to put them back into their tanks. ::)

Second one often consists of my going outside where they are fields and fields of flying discus of every strain --all I have to do is catch them with a net. What fun! :D

Hmmm...maybe I should stop changing tanks before going to bed at night?

I am always having fish dreams, several of them which I keep having...

#1) The house is flooded about 1 foot deep full of water and my fish plus wild discus are swimming around and I can't seem to catch them...

#2) I move into a new house and it has a swimming pool in the basement and I buy new discus to put in it...

#3) There is a crack in my tank and the fish are flopping on the floor...

Those are the big ones... It happens a lot...

LOL poor John!!!

My fish dreams are always about swimming with them. I read in a dream book, to pay attention to the details...if the water is clear or cloudy, fish are healthy vs. unhealthy etc..

It indicates how much the real world is bugging you. Dreams are cool. Jen K.
