Chuck,
I had the same experience at first. Fish didn't seem to like them at all unless they were really hungry and I fed the Azoo first. So I decided the best way to make use of all the Azoo I had was to add it to my beefheart recipe. It is supposed to beefheart anyway, I think. I guess they got used to eating it as part of the beefheart. Now they eat it fine by itself.

I tried it, and larger fish hate it. They will eat Tetra-Bits or Jehmco's Better Sinking Bits willingly, but not the Azoo. I grind up the Azoo, and soak it for a few minutes before feeding it to the babies. It's going to take me a long time to get rid of 2.5lbs of the stuff.

The only pellets that the fish hated more, were the Hai Feng pellets. The pellets floated forever, and made the fish bloated too.

Jehmco's HBH soft and moist pellets were also a dud. They are really smelly, too large, and the fish wouldn't touch it. However, the cat loves it. Again, I had to buy 2lbs of these pellets.

The pellets that really made the house smell were the Hikari Tropical Discus with Color Enhancer pellets. The fish ate the pellets, but the whole room stunk. My family made me promise never to feed the fish those pellets again!
In fact, I have 1 pkt left. If anyone wants it, please IM me, and you can have it for $1 plus send me a SASE!

I tend to mix my pellet foods together so the fish eat both the Jehmco BSB and the Azoo. I do have a tank of juvi's though that just love Azoo pelet food.

It does take a while for fish to get used to some foods, most of my fish wouldnt touch the BSB but after about 3 days they decided that was all they where going to get so they started eating it.

Peace,
Roger

My fish seem to like the Hikari pellets fairly well.

I've bveen mixing the Azoo 9 in 1 red 50/50 with tetra bits for almost 2 weeks. they would not eat the azoo at first, but are eating it now. They like the tetra bits better.

I agree with Carol, mine hated the Azoo untill I mixed it with pellets they like. I think you have to trick them :)

Al:
Do my former wilds turn their noses at the Azoo pellets ? They use to eat in a rotation with other foods. It wasn't their favorite but they use to eat it all after a while. Have they changed ?
I haven't been in the forums much lately. How are bthe fish doing ? Can you post some pics ?? Any breeding hopefuls ?
Cheers and the best to your growing family, Francisco.
