Interesting site. The discus are a ghost derivitve - good shape, bright colors, partial red eye. I bet these will be very popular in a few generations.

Very interesting indeed. I happen to love this discus, however I have talked to some breeders who are currently working with Nebula F3s and claim to have less than 30% breed true. So for now I will just sit and watch for another generation or two. My understanding is this is an enhanced calico discus. :)

I would have to agree. This is one you love or hate. :)

The body shape still needs work. I'm just refering to color.

Sorry...Hate it :) ;D ;D It reminds me of the Koi in my pond. Not that the color scheme is bad ...it looks great on my Koi... on discus? I'll pass. :)

$300 for a 2.5 inch fish?! I think I'll pass thank you!
I do think that we will see more of the "koi fish" look in some discus, as in Angels. Breeders will always try to be innovative and create the latest and newest types. It's fun and interesting to see. Thanks for pointing us to that site.

I think the only thing this fish has going for it is it's body shape...

I kinda like the calico fish, don't think I'd want to own any but they are ok I guess.

I just don't see where they are trying to go with these after fixing the strain, what would make a quality calico? 2 or 3 colours in equal proportions? any Ideas?

Add me to the list. I did not like them at first but they certainly are starting to grow on me. I think I like the fact that no 2 are the same.

;D Yeah, it sure has the colors of Koi. I would call it "DisKoi-colored" Discus. ;D I think of the nebula as a deep-space cloud blue which the fish does resemble the light color reflection of it. A beauty for I pass on it to the lucky chap.

I think they're neat.

The original Ghosts are pretty cool too. I was won over when Jeff brought one for auction at the Midwest Discus Club meeting in May.

Just my two cents

It's a nice fish but just not something I would put in one of my tanks... :-\

My opinion is i like'em, just think of some new strain that you could come by way of using this fish as a breeding medium. The possible crosses are mind boggling. :yikes: :yikes:  But again it's just my opinion........................................Jim

Love it hate it it doesn't really matter. It is funny how this discus gets that reaction out of people though. You don't see people saying I hate BDs or RTs. They are all just excepted. I wonder what it is about this discus? The only other discus that pulls that from people is the bat discus.

I think it is beautiful. what is funny to me is that ghosts never sell, but most colorful derivatives of ghost sell like hot cakes. Whoever stumbled in to the ghost discus is the real hero.

I said it before an I'll say it again, works for me. So for all of you that have ghosts, nebula's or aurora's send them all too me. IM me and I'll get in touch. I surely don't want them crowding your tanks, but mine are a little empty at the moment. Jim
