Does anyone know where you can get information (preferrably "plans") that different people have used when building their tank racks? I have been able to piece together some info through this forum, but was really wondering if there is a site that contains more example plans that I can go through to get ideas.

Thanks

Carsten :)

LOCK AT THIS! Why build it if you can buy it for less than $100 and someone said that it is rated for 3,000 pounds per shelf.

TDK-MAN:

I just saw that listing! That is nice, I'm gonna have to pick a couple of those units. I'll just tell my wife that their for tool storage, ;D Not for more Fish tanks. ::)

As for my "Fishroom in Progress", nothing too impressive yet. I just finished with my R/O Collecting area. Put in another Washtub. Built a HEAVY DUTY wood bench for 2 29 Gallon Tanks, I have 2 10 Gallons setup for isolation and hospital. Now in the process of installing Shop Flou. Lights.
Then I'm going to pick a couple of those racks from Home Depot for future use. ;D

I also have a 75 Gallon Show Tank setup in my Rec Room.

HMMMM - MPO - glass cracks ! I would be a little apprehensive .
Perhaps a full 24'' wide shelf would be better ?

After all, what price do you put on your discus .

Sorry,
I'm too cheap to spend $89 on a tank rack no matter how much it holds...

Here's my tank stand:

Total cost of Project:

8ea 2x4x8' $16.00 (Home Depot)

1 Box 2 1/4" Stainless deck screws: $7.00

1 Father-in-law in the construction Business who likes a challenge: Priceless

The Hardest part was getting the Damn thing up the stairs. Next time I'll assemble it in place.

It's 8' long and supports 4X20H's and 2x 55's

I got the plan from Brain @ Keystone Discus

As you can see on mine some changes were made, Notably, the substitution of doubled and single 2x4's for the 4x4's specified.

Nice set up. Yup 2x4's work great, cheap and easy to work with.

if designed correctly, right

Uh Randal?
Is there a reason why it looks like there is a single token Angelfish in most of your Discus Tanks.?
