Hi
If the water is good and the fish look healthy otherwise, you may just need more fish in there. Try using a divider... eggcrate from lighting fixtures work well and are cheap. If the fish come out and eat normal when they are separated you may need to change the tank dynamics.

Is there any sign or aggression? Are the two eating normal ..old enough to breed?

First line of defense is always extra water changes.

What size tank? gravel? Water Changes - how much, how often? Tankmates?

Are the two being harassed? Are they dark in color hiding in the back of the tank? White feces?
