New Tank Yahoo!!

??? I just bought a 80g new tank today yahooo!! Im totally excited cause i got a great deal on it and its brand new!

Question is this:

Can i change my discus over to the new tank tonight if I transfer the water from the old tank to the new one and then place my already seeded filters onto the new tank aswell? Will amonia level raise to high even \with the seeded filters added.

Im thinking maybe the filters will still have to adjust to the larger tank size?

Hi Franko:
Fill the tank with fresh, dechlorinated, warm water. Add the heater and new filter. Let it run for 4 - 6 hours to make sure it doesn't leak, the heater works, etc. Then add your discus and the old filter. The old filter is used to handling the bioload from your existing discus. You shouldn't have to worry about ammonia spikes. Filters adjust to fish load, not tank size. The new filter should be cycled in a few weeks and then you can put old filter back on the old tank and get some discus.
