how do I set up bb tank for discus? Do i have to buy some kind of a set-up-kit or how? I know that there have to be bacteriums there that they will survive. How long does the setting up take?

You are also asking how to cycle your filter. Remember it's not the tank and water that are cycled it's the filter media.

Carol is correct. The bacteria is in the filter. So the fastest way to a cycled tank is take an established filter and put it on a new tank. Most use sponge filters. So if you have an existing tank add a sponge filter in there for 10-14 days and then add it to your new tank and it will be ok. :)

I know how to keep the tank after I get the right bacterias there. I just do not know how I can get them to a new BB tank. I have always had just planted tanks and just now I don't have any..so I have to get the bacterias from somehow else. Are these setting-up-kits useful? I have to get the aquarium set up very fast. Because I'm coming with discuses to Finland and I don't have ready aquarium there waiting for me :/.

I'm familar with one filter that comes ready for use. I don't remember the name, but you open it, put it in the tank and it is cycled. I do know that one works and would work for you. ;)

Dont know if this will help but it might be an idea
If you are Going from the States to Finland why not get a Product called Biosphera (i think that is what it is called) whilst not an ideal soloution for Your fish the product will cycle your tank straight away .... I dont know if this product will work for the amount of Discus you are taking But maybe someone else will clarify this for you
