Do you ppl think it's possible for me to have a DIY hood
I want to use a piece cardboard or PVC to be my tank's hood (48*18)?
I think I will go with a 48*15 PVC. I will put it under the light. Will the PVC block the light?
Is it Manufacturing Hood is much more better?
Do you ppl know any problem for this kind of setting?

I think you might mean Plexiglass (acrylic) ? If that is the case I would not do it. I would use glass. Acrylic will warp when it is exposed to water on one side and not completely braced. I hope I am understanding what it is you are asking.

I agree! Plexi will bend therefore glass is prefered. I would recommend actually building a box around the light as opposed to the light on top of the cover. Over time, the cover may get water stains and hardness build up diffusing the light entering the tank.
