hi

just started feeding my 1st pair of discus (PB and RT about 5inch in size) a BH mix bought from my LFS for almost 2 weeks.
seems that they are still not very keen on it. they do not rush to the food as previously when i was feeding just frozen blood worms.
anyway to improve their appetite for bh?

should i drop in the frozen bits or thaw it first? how much to feed?
usually feed a piece 1 inch by half inch, twice a day.

thanks

Hello,

You definately want to thaw any frozen food before you feed it to your fish. And I would try adding a little bit of the bh mix in with your food that you normally feed your fish. It shouldn't take them long to figure out that it is good stuff! Also, try hand-feeding. When your fish associate your hand with food it is much easier to get them to try new things. I could feed my fish cheeseburgers if I wanted to because I have them trained to accept pretty much anything that I have in my hand when it goes into the tank. hth.
