How do you guys feed 4-8x a day?

How do you guys manage to feed your young Discus 4-8 times a day? I haven't aquired any discus yet, but I'm preparing to and this is something I still haven't figured out. Aside from homemakers or other stay-at-home careers, how do you 9-5 people feed your Discus that often when you're only home in the evening? I suppose an automatic feeder could feed pellets during the day and you could feed beef heart and bloodworms in the evening. Is this acceptable? Or should they recieve the more nutritious food earlier in the day?

it's simple. discus keepers are absolutely insane. all the good ones, at least.

i'm gonna try an auto feeder for lunch and late afternoon. gonna try to work out a colorbit/flake mix system.

up at 4:00 am --- feed

leave for work ...8:00--- feed

lunch, drive 20 mins... feed them... drive 20 mins back to work

home 6:00pm...feed them

late..evening ... feed

I am about to do some career moving though that will let me feed them even more. ;D

Eheim automatic feeder 4 times per day plus hand fed morning and night.

I don't know if it would work to mix flakes and bits . . .

where'd you get your eheim carol? been pricing feeders. I'm gonna set up two alternating autofeeders, one for colorbits, one for flake...

Hey, try artificial raising, feeding them every 2-3 hours for the first week. And I do mean Every 2-3 hours. Paul.
