Heres some pics my daughter took on her hike on Juan de Fuca trail on Vancouver Island. the westcoast. thought some of you might enjoy them. our rainforest type area. rains most of the time.

'Course, don't know how I'd ever get one of my horses out that far from home, never mind out on the island!!lol!! But it's sure nice just dreaming of it!! Pics are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing! Nice Pictures! Your daughters good with that camera!

Amazing how much you miss when you're mountain biking by at mach 3 with your hair on fire :) I should make a trip out there to do some hiking!

April - i'm jealous!

the county i live in has less than 3% tree cover and most of those trees are located in 2 provicial parks which are each about 30 minute drive away from me. 100 years ago they estimate the coverage was 80% with field grasses and swamp covering the rest of the land. now it's all farm crops.. mostly corn.

Hi all,
April, those photos are breathtaking. I really miss having large, old trees around, even if they were in the big city of L.A. Ya know, the thing I miss the most is listening to owls late at night, hooting away in the silence. No owls 'round here in the desert :(

Dottie. there are horses on vancouver island. lol. and some of that trail yes.but horses dont walk over fallen trees over canyons.
it is beautiful.
so....all of you...come on over ....you can do a wc for me as your passing through. lol.

That purple was taken at a very slow shutter speed. makes it show purple.

Was that a recent trip? Will definitely do some hiking there! We do a lot of alpine backpacking, but nothing in the rain forests of the NW.

Great Pictures, April.

I spent a week on Salt pring island last year. The nature around there is trully majestic. I gotta go back there again.
