Did Sue send you a tracking number? If so, go to the Fed Ex site and paste it in to see where the discus are now.

You should have gotten a tracking number, you can call Cary and get it. That makes it so easy to see where your fish are. Mine have always made it by 10:30 AM. Good Luck, Paul.

I recieved my fish from Cary at 11 am today. Looks like the box was tossed around. One of the bags inside busted. Luckily I only lost one out of eight White Butterfly. Cary also gave me 5 Blue Pandas as extras. Mahalo Cary

Congratulations! Glad to hear that they finally arrived. And, a good job by Cary to get them there, even though their box was mistreated!

The day I was to recieve the box, I often went outside to check if the truck is there. Well, it just happened that the truck was out on the street but I did not see the driver. I guess he was in the back getting the box. As I was standing by the truck waiting for the driver to show up. I noticed he was roughly handling the box. I said to the driver " hey be careful those are some expensive fish" He then said "if they are not eating fish I don't want them."
Now this is the reason why one of the bag inside busted. Fortunately I only lost one from the busted bag but the fish are having a tough time recovering from the mishandling. Some of the fish are laying diagonally on the bottom and not eating They seem to have an equilibrium problem.
I've added salt 1 tbsp per 1 gal. and slowly increased the temp to 88. I'm pissed off at the way that f#*^ing driver mishandled the box.
What do you people do besides what I'm doing to make it easier for discus to get acclimated. I recieved the fish on Tuesday and although most have recovered there are still some that are having a tough time. Thank you all for any suggestions.
Dan
I know by recent experience that it'll do no good, but I would complain big time! Seems some idiots enjoy the little things like creasing envelopes that say "Photograph, please do not bend", or punting boxes around that say "Live Fish, please be careful". The shipment I got recently was not only 3 days late, but it was absolutley destroyed and had a nice imprint of a foot where the box and foam liner was caved in. FedEx's response? "The clerk is new" and "It's not our fault". Sorry, I'm still a little more than irritated by that one...
Most overnight deliveries are guaranteed by 10:30am the next morning. If you got your fish at 11:00am then you are entitled to a refund of the shipping charges. If the driver was intentionally mistreating your delivery, you should complain and he should be fired!
As far as the fish go, I think they'll come around. These are tough little guys and can take a lot. After being in a box for almost 4 days and then having the bags broken and losing most of the water, mine were on their sides for a few hours and actually quit breathing for a bit. A few hours later they were up and few days later they were fine. I had added a little more than 1 TBS salt per gallon and raised the temperature to 88.
Good luck!

It is very unfortunate that you guys have had bad experiences. The Fed ex and UPS drivers in my area and at work are very professional and customer service oriented. You really owe it the the rest of the people who are recieving fish to complain and follow up on the complaint. These guys have a reputaion as world class organizations, and they didn't get it because of bad service. They really do want to know. There are always a few bad apples out there that need to find a new line of work. It's too bad that you had to be on the short end of the stick. Paul.

Brian - too bad you didn't have a camera ready to take a pic of the delivery guy holding the box with the imprint of the foot. proof like that is VERY hard to dismiss ...and if i company still tries to cover it up i'd be willing to bet $$$ that the local tv and newspaper would love to make an example of it.
Hi Dan,
Don't worry about the fedx guy! What ever does not come around I will send NEW! ones ;) Airborn or ups ;D

complain
and complain loudly
I'd go higher and higher up the fedex ladder until I got a satisfactory response and a refund on shipping charges.
as some have said....do not ljust let it go ....they need to know it happened
