I was wondering what is the average lifespan of captive raised Discus in Aquariums.

10-12 years is an average lifespan.

well it really depends on how well you take care of them, but i've read on another post one time that they have been known to reach 16+ years

AVERAGE lifespan...under the care of your AVERAGE discus keeper IME is 6-7 years. Push it to 10-12 years with superb care and health throughout the fish's life.

I have had some live about 12 years, maybe a little more, maybe alittle less.

I was told about 6-7yrs in home tanks, longer in the wild. Not sure....
